Individual new-registration application fees, 2026–27
The following figures are from the individual new-registration table on BPC’s registration fees page, checked on 9 October 2026.
| Individual application | New-registration fee |
|---|---|
| Domestic Builder Unlimited | $1,039.00 |
| Domestic Builder Limited | $831.20 |
| Commercial Builder Unlimited | $831.20 |
| Commercial Builder Limited | $664.90 |
BPC lists its registration fees as exempt from GST. This does not describe the tax treatment of BLS services or other providers’ fees.
These amounts are not company fees, annual fees, mutual recognition fees or renewal fees. If you already hold a registration, check the applicable table and any discount criteria instead of assuming the new-application figure applies.
Allow for annual fees and renewal
Annual fees are separate from the one-off new-registration fee. The due date and applicable financial year determine the amount payable. Renewal fees are paid at five-year intervals. BPC says renewal applications should be lodged at least three months before expiry to avoid a late fee.
Company registrations have separate tables. Where a company relies on your individual registration, keeping both current involves separate obligations.
Use the live fee page for those amounts. Before paying, confirm the class, applicant entity and action you selected in the application.
The regulator fee is one part of the budget
Other costs may arise from the application you need: a criminal history check, required insurance, paid reference access for an exam, or RTO assessment or training where a genuine qualification gap remains. Do not buy every course or reference book before checking the class.
BLS support is separately scoped and quoted. Regulator, RTO and other third-party fees are separate unless the proposal expressly includes them. Ask which costs are included so you can compare the total work involved.
A practical budget check
Before starting the application:
- Identify the likely domestic or commercial class.
- Confirm whether the applicant is you or the company.
- Select the fee table for a new application, recognition, annual payment or renewal.
- Check what qualification and documents are already available.
- List third-party costs separately from application support.
- Keep the annual fee, insurance and registration expiry dates in the business calendar.

Paying an application fee does not establish eligibility or guarantee registration. BPC assesses the complete application and makes the decision.
