At a glance
What the regulator will ask for
CAT checks the class, minimum qualification and supervised experience. Your records need to show the work you performed and when you gained the experience.
CAT states builder licence applicants must have the minimum qualification for the class they are applying for.
Applicants also need the minimum amount of supervised experience, with at least half gained after the minimum qualification was awarded.
Where the applicant already holds a builder licence, experience needs to be above the class of any existing licence.
The class should cover the building work you intend to contract, manage or supervise in Tasmania.

Service and cost
Licence and registration applications vary by state, class and how much preparation is needed. The free check gives BLS enough information to explain the service and provide a quote.
The quote depends on where you are applying, the type of application, what records you already have and how much preparation is still needed.
