Consumer and Business Services
Before the business takes contracts, its licence conditions and supervisor coverage need to be in place. BLS helps prepare these requirements for South Australian sole traders and businesses.

What the regulator will ask for
The contractor licence belongs to the business and sets the building work it can contract for. A registered supervisor must cover the same type of work.
CBS states a building work contractor licence has conditions that describe the type of building work the licence holder can contract for.
The contractor licence must be backed by a supervisor registration held by the applicant or another approved supervisor covering the same type of work.
CBS can issue licences to individuals, partnerships and companies, and the correct licence holder depends on the business structure.
Domestic building work can also involve contract, licence number display and building indemnity insurance obligations that need to be understood before trading.
The business structure, licence conditions and any domestic building obligations still need to be checked.

What BLS does for you
BLS checks the conditions, business structure and supervisor position before the contractor application is lodged.

Service and cost
Licence and registration applications vary by state, class and how much preparation is needed. The free check gives BLS enough information to explain the service and provide a quote.
The quote depends on where you are applying, the type of application, what records you already have and how much preparation is still needed.
